Women’s Wellness Clinic in honor of Henrietta Lacks Birthday at the Inner City Health Center

 Since 2015, Arts & Wellness has provided cervical cancer screenings to 450 women who visited 9HealthFairs (9HF). We have also, participated in numerous health fairs providing brochures, pamphlets, and other educational materials in metro areas communities. Our funding comes from our annual fundraiser held each January, community organizations, community leaders, community health organizations, and local church members.

International HPV Awareness Day is a designated opportunity to spread awareness about Human papillomavirus (HPV), one of the most common sexually transmitted infections. There are many different types of HPV, some of which can cause cervical cancer and other cancers. This month we are sharing information about the health issues HPV can cause, ways to prevent HPV contraction, and encouraging you to be aware of your risk. The official hashtag is #AskAboutHPV
